Reflexology is a Holistic Therapy based on Egyptian and Chinese treatments dating back 2,500 years.  Egyptian hieroglyphics and papyrus show pictures of hand and foot treatments being given.  The Chinese have used pressure point techniques for even longer and these points were also incorporated in therapies such as acupuncture and Shiatsu.

Reflexology in its own form is still a relevantly new treatment developed at the turn of the twentieth century by Dr William Fitzgerald an American ear, nose and throat specialist.

How does Reflexology work?
Reflexology is a treatment that works on the hands and the feet to help balance the whole body.  It uses massage and pressure point techniques on reflex zones to effect the energy pathways.  Each part of the foot or hand corresponds to an area of the body.  Energy can become stagnant or excessive and this in turn can cause imbalance. The aim of reflexology is to create a balance in the systems of the body.
